Human Rights Chapter
Gaskins Solicitors has a team of dedicated Human Rights and Civil Liberties Lawyers and Caseworkers whose collective vision is to be:
• a leading, effective human rights and constitutional watchdog and campaigners.
• an international force in the development and delivery of human rights, with a primary focus in Southern and Central Africa.
• a primary contributor to clear strategic policy on the delivery of socio-economic rights for the disadvantaged.
To this end, Gaskins strive to promote awareness, protection and enforcement of legal and human rights through the creation of a human rights culture.
Our organisation continues to achieve a proud record of fighting oppression and abuse of human rights worldwide. Today it is recognised as being in the vanguard of civil society in emerging democracies.
Gaskins Solicitors recognises that in the new era it may be necessary to enter into joint ventures with state institutions, political parties, non-governmental organisations, civic groups, unions and private stakeholders so as to promote its objectives. However, it will remain vigilant and not abandon its role of watchdog and advocate for the just cause. It is as committed to being a relevant and effective human rights organisation today as it was in the yesteryears.
